Food is prepared daily using fresh produce by our committed qualified cook. Our staff regularly update on information concerning the diets of the children this includes caring for any special dietary needs both cultural and health related, and being aware of allergen content.

Mealtimes at Phoenix are relaxed sociable times that are to be enjoyed by the children. It is an opportunity for staff and children to share ideas and thoughts about their day so far. At Phoenix we feel it is important that children understand the importance of a healthy diet. We incorporate different foods from around the world in to our menus to coincide with the children’s learning.

For our funded children we offer parents to bring in lunch boxes for their child's lunch or tea (or both ).

We are participating in Medway's Food and Nutrition Support Programme for Childcare settings, being delivered by the Children's Food Trust. We've received accredited training on how to improve the food we provide and encourage children to eat well and make healthy choices.
